The park includes over 18 miles of marked trails ranging from beginner (green) to advanced (black) with plenty of moderate (blue) trails for everyone. On-site facilities include restrooms and picnic shelters. There is also a playground for the young and young at heart. Near the parking lot is a play area for us 'wheelers. This includes a rock pile, balance beam, mogul section and log roll.
The terrain at Kansas Rocks Recreation Park is quite varied. There are wide-open sections with vast views and tight tree-lined sections guaranteed to test your maneuverability skills. Several hill climbs and descents. If it has rained recently, be prepared for slippery conditions. All trails increase substantially in difficulty when conditions are muddy.
Kansas Rocks Recreation Park is guaranteed to provide everyone with a fun, challenging and exciting day of 4 wheeling. Plenty of parking, several annuities and great trails are available to all. Lunch can be enjoyed at one of the sheltered areas. Fort Scott is located 15 minutes away with several choices for dinner. |
